Back in the 90' people from my village used their houses as their back. Not because they were not enlightened but because they had to travel for long distances to find a bank and also the means of transport was rarely found. This always triggered robberies and it came with violence because everybody held their treasures dear to them and they wouldn't let it go without putting up a fight. This cases were so familiar and they occured so often until the worst of it happened to our next of neighbor. He used to keep his money in the house but still in a safe house and only a few knew the secret of which most of them were close relative and family. When the robbers came they were so specific to lead him to the safe house and when he hesitated they gave him a cut by his head that made his wife surrender to fate. The incident made the village furious and they decided to carry out an investigation and they found out the mastermind of the theft was a son in law who had used dubious means to trick his wife to find out where his father kept the money. The son in law was punished by death by all villagers through mob justice and since that day, the cases reduced and people became their own security.
