My life with a drunken father
When I was growing up, life at home was very difficult because my father was addicted to alcohol. Almost every evening he came home drunk. Instead of bringing happiness to our family, he would start arguments with my mother.
My brothers, sisters, and I would quietly hide in our room, hoping the night would pass without anyone getting hurt.
My father often spent the little money he earned on alcohol instead of buying food or paying our school fees.
There were days when we had only one meal, and sometimes I was sent home from school because my fees had not been paid. Seeing other children enjoying a peaceful home made me feel sad, but I never stopped believing that one day my life would be different.
My mother became the pillar of our family. She worked tirelessly to provide food, pay school fees whenever she could, and encourage us not to lose hope. Her strength inspired me to keep studying and to believe that education could change my future.
Living in such an environment was painful, but it taught me important lessons. I learned to be patient, hardworking, and responsible. I also promised myself that I would never allow alcohol to control my life or destroy my future. Instead, I would work hard to build a family filled with love, respect, and peace.
Today, whenever I look back on those difficult years, I realize they made me stronger. Although my childhood was full of fear and hardship, it gave me the courage to keep moving forward. My story reminds me that no matter where we come from, we can choose a better path and create a brighter future.
