I was born into a not well family but at least deep in the Nandi region my father being a head teacher in a local village school and my mother being a full wife I knew I had to do better. l tried my best in primary school later joined high school.

I had a friend by the name Jane while in school who became like a sister to me. After four years we finished school and it was time to go home. Jane and I stayed in the same village so her boyfriend came to take her home so I tagged along her boyfriend Nick come with his friend by the name Arnold. I couldn't resist his smile but stayed in my lane. We reached home safe and promised Jane I will see her soon.

So during one Sunday after church I had gone to fetch firewood when my little brother Kiptanui came and called me saying I had some visitors at home. I hurried home and by Good luck my parents were not at home so I invited them in. Jane was among the visitors. I went to change when Jane followed me inside she told me that Arnold had begged ,,, saying he wanted to see me. I finished changing then went to sit with my visitors chatted then they left and before leaving Arnold promised me next time he will come with lorry loaded with firewoods.
So sometime later our results came and I had passed. Arnold came to congratulate me and fulfilled his promise. So I went and talked with Arnold and what he said shocked me, he wanted to marry me. Being naive and small I didn't know what to say but I saw this as a chance to escape poverty. Later in the evening I told my parents and they weren't sure about it but it was my choice. So I agreed I didn't know this choice will be the turn of my life
