Mothers leave footprints in our hearts

I grew up watching my mother choose our needs over hers. One year, when schools reopened, I needed a pair of shoes. We couldn't afford them. A week later, she came home with brand-new shoes for me. I was excited and never asked where the money came from.
Months later, I noticed she was walking to work every day in worn-out shoes with a hole at the bottom. A neighbour told me she had sold her only good pair of shoes so I could go to school without being embarrassed.
That day changed me.
Today, every step I take toward my dreams reminds me of the steps my mother took barefoot for me. She never called it sacrifice. She called it love.
Some people leave footprints on the ground. Mothers leave them on our hearts forever. ❤️
